The last of these catching-up posts…

hodgy

John Hodgman, I think it was the conclusion of this episode that led to this fanart.

phirm1

Mike Phirman, helicopter pilot! Who doesn’t love Mike Phirman? If you don’t, you’re probably wrong.

I’ve been doing both Live Drawing (for donation or just to let folks watch me draw stuff) lately, as well as taking suggestions for drawing. What follows are a series of examples of these things.

Star Trek Groundhog.

You can also click here to see a bunch of videos of me drawing stuff.

Oh! And I did a full coloring on Red Dwarf’s “Cat”, a doodle from my previous Live Drawing. I love Cat! I can’t wait for Red Dwarf X!

I’ve also been doing some of the usual fan arts.

Ken Plume, and the many hats he wears. I made this for his birthday!

Brian Posehn, who I have meant to draw forever.

Molly Lewis in banana toed shoes. I think I’ll let you wonder.

I also popped in on Geek Girl Con long enough for the concert!

I made some fan art featuring Vixy and Tony

I also got to see them at the Geek Girl Con Concert!

I also released some new fabric designs, and there should be a few more in a week or so.

That is about all I’ve got for you today.

Sorry for the delay in posting lately. I’ve been really scattered lately with running errands and dealing with flooding in our apartment from construction whoopsies. We’re currently down some key furniture and storage space, meaning I’m kind of stuck in piles of chaos until things get replaced.

I will possibly be doing another Live Donation Drawing soon, or more regularly. It is time again for new shoes (I very nearly blistered recently from spots that are wearing out), and I really need new art markers and better drawing paper. RE Paper, I’ve been using cheap reams of printer paper, but it is too cheap, it bleeds a LOT, especially when I’m stuck using substitute markers. Maybe I can’t get new tech tools for making art, but the basics need some restocking and improvement at least.

I have a few things today! Well, OK… more than a few…

Marian Call

Marian Call posted some photos from an art project she was modeling… I felt compelled to fanart it!

Snail

Self portrait as a snail. Because. Creepy, no?

Community

On a recent Bit of a Chat with Ken Plume, he chatted with Gillian Jacobs of the awesome show, “Community”. This is Brita and Señor Chang doing the play “Letters” as Muppets.

TJ Miller Tarzan

This is… I took a nap the other day and had a series of odd dreams. There was one in which comedian TJ Miller was a nude Tarzan, telling funnies while swinging around a stage on vines. Imagine what that’d actually look and sound like. You’re welcome.

TJ Miller

I also did a proper portrait of him. He seemed to enjoy it! :)

PNBJDE Promo Video!

I will be appearing at the Pacific Northwest Ball-Jointed Doll Expo, and this is a video they posted today to promote the show. I’ve always loved dolls, and kind of early on with the BJD fad a lot of my friends jumped into it. However, it is a very expensive hobby (and job for one awesomely talented friend), so I couldn’t indulge. At least now I get to see a bunch up close!

Also, I will be attending Emerald City Comic Con. I hope I can figure out a wheelchair arrangement by then, my back has been really iffy lately. Are you going? What in particular will be a draw for you?

Pete Holmes

I leave you with fanart of Pete Holmes, comedian and host of the “You Made it Weird” podcast.

I am having to move very suddenly. The building we’re in was doing earthquake retrofits and renovations, but things went sort of sideways, and I had about a week and a half to try to find a new place, pack, schedule movers…. CRAZY TIMES. Anyway… the move is requiring quite a loss of stuff and storage space. Some features also differ, making needs for some items where there hadn’t been before (oh, and while on a bus line, I am no longer near ANYTHING where I can “go run and pick up” stuff). Obviously I am short on funds, and cleaned out everything I had doing crazy things like paying the phone bill. EXCITEMENT! So, should you be in a very giving mood, here’s a buncha stuff I’ll need in the new place (and I do this so you can buy a thing directly if you are vastly uncomfortable sending funds to me):

Moving Wishlist.

Now, certainly I am going bonkers trying to figure out how to get stuff like this so I don’t have to live out of cardboard boxes forever (it’s cute when you’re 25 and able-bodied, not so much when you’re 37 and not so able). There MIGHT also be something coming up in a month or so* where you’ll want to buy stuff from me. OH THIS TIMING CURSE. So, please choose accordingly, pass it around. I need everything I can get to help. I already have a growing list of needs I cannot keep up with (like a winter coat, the gauzy long shirt I have ain’t doin’ it, and a back-up drive so I don’t loose data if my system fries, as it seems inclined to do if I can’t get it fixed), and I desperately want to get organized for my sanity and health.

I also plan an eBay batch when I get settled. I have so much art I never need to see again and I cannot afford the space. – I could practically fill that giant file cabinet on the wishlist.

UPDATE #4: We cannot afford a vacuum, and we will really need on in a couple of weeks. I know the one I choose seems pricey, but it really takes care of all the needs and challenges I have in keeping the carpet clean.

*About this thing. I cannot say yet – particularly as it is not completely confirmed, I can just say it could make for some tantalizing holiday shopping. I am a temptress, yes. (Please be laughing now, I sure am!)

Also, I will be back online after Monday.

Alrighty! Enough pleading today! ON TO ARTS.

Sara Chicazul

The lovely, the creative, the kind Chicazul!

Plumeiverse

Based on the episode of A Bit of a Chat with Ken Plume with John Hodgman making his 4th appearance (special surprise moments long guest Paul F. Tompkins ). This is based on discussion of an alternate Plumiverse that they discussed.

Molly Bloodyfingers

On another episode of that podcast, Molly Lewis had a 5th appearance in which they talked about a potential roller derby name. “Molly Bloodyfingers, Queen of the Uke”.

And this is what Paul and Storm say Marian Call does in Alaska – Breakfast with Bears!

That is all for now!

Captain Picard

This was my contribution to Captain Picard Day.

Alton Brown

Alton Brown had a challenge for potential Twitter Avatars, this was my effort.

Jess Fink

A portrait of Jess Fink, just because she is amazing and makes many awesome things.

Jeri Ryan

Jeri Ryan was recently on Ken Plume’s A Bit of a Chat. She is amazing and fascinating, and a fan of gardening!

Frogger The Musical

Fan art of Paul and Storm’s song “Frogger! The Musical“, which I finally got around to creating after having heard about it being Paul and Mrs. Paul’s anniversary recently.

Fabrics

I designed a bunch of new fabrics and put them up for sale on Spoonflower. I wanted to try some large, bright florals and some kind of coordinating designs. I’m sorry I didn’t get around to posting sooner, but today (June 20th) they’re doing free shipping. You’ll have to hurry!

That’s all I got for now! Except this one thing…

I’ll be visiting family in Vegas in 2 weeks and I am dead broke. I will likely be fed for most meals, but I’d like to have pocket money just in case, and to cover unexpected medical needs (and crazy amounts of water, I mean… Vegas in JULY), transportation, etc. If you might like to make a donation, you can try me on PayPal, or check out the Revolution Money Exchange link in the menu. I have far too many needs on my “OMGHALP” list, but this one in coming up a lot more quickly than the others. I promise not to gamble any of it! I did a little of that my first trip years ago, and it is sooo not me. I’ve been since, and I’d really rather not. I’m more interested in a Hoover Dam postcard/souvenir of some kind. OH! I can do that! If you donate 10 bucks or more, I will send you a postcard with a doodle on it! How does that sound?

Man, I can’t wait to get out of the house. Most of May was pretty bad, and incapacitating in new and horrible ways. June has been better, but I’ve been too broke to do much – and strolls around the U District tend to be ill advised. I do love sight seeing! Particularly of the expansive vista variety.

Also, I just realized… this was a very Star Trek-y art post! Huh.

Ken Plume

A Bit of a Chat with Ken Plume is a mighty fine podcast!

Self Portrait Timeline 1

I saw a meme going around where you’d collect self portraits you’ve done over the years. I didn’t include stuff from the webcomic, stuff not really suitable for public release, etc. I wish I had more than this!

Self Portrait Timeline 2

So I went through what photos I have of myself, and tried to draw new Self Portraits that represent myself from birth to present.  It isn’t completely accurate, and I feel like some years maybe got mixed up, but it’ll do. Some notes: Age 5 1st day of school, Age 14, yes really, Age 15 wedding guest, Age 18 my wedding, Age 23 1st RHPS, Age 28 and 32 Halloween, Age 31 1st Pride Parade. If you comment with an Age #, I will try to answer questions about ’em!

I’m trying to get things updated now that the site is fixed! I’ve added a quick gallery for fabrics, and I can finally easily put up images again!

I was listening to A Bit of a Chat with Ken Plume, with guest Jonathan Coulton. There was talk of how the upcoming album would be lacking monkeys. This is a sad monkey waiting by the phone.

If you enjoy that podcast, I highly, highly recommend checking out Mr. Plume’s chats with Mike Phirman,  and Adam Savage. Really, there and many amazing interviews that he’s done!
